Tuckalong

Send it with someone already going

Post a parcel. A traveller heading the same way carries it. Your payment is held until you confirm it arrived.

Flat 50p service fee for now, normally £1.75. No commission from travellers.

How it works

Tuckalong connects people sending parcels with travellers going the same way. We are not a carrier. The carriage agreement is between you and the person you match with.

Travellers post the trips they are already taking. You see the route, the dates, the spare kilos and the price per kilo, then choose the one that suits your parcel.
You see the total before you send anything. The delivery price and the £1.75 fee are itemised on every screen where you choose, accept or pay a price. Nothing is added later.
The money waits with Stripe, our payment provider. Not with Tuckalong and not with the traveller. It is released when you confirm, or 7 days after the traveller marks it delivered if you do not respond and no dispute is open.

Before the traveller takes it

They open the parcel and check the contents. Sealed parcels are refused. A seal number is recorded at pickup, so what left is what arrives.

If something goes wrong

Either side can open a dispute before the money releases. We review what both of you submit and decide where the held funds go.

What we do not do

We do not carry your parcel, take possession of it, or insure it. If it is valuable or irreplaceable, use a commercial courier.

Going somewhere anyway?

Carry a parcel in the space you already have. You set your price. You keep all of it.

  • Open every parcel. If you cannot see what is inside, do not take it. This is the single rule that matters most.
  • You are paid when the sender confirms. Tuckalong takes no commission. Stripe's processing fee comes out of your payout.
  • Payouts need a Stripe account. They are currently available in the UK, the EEA, Switzerland, the US and Canada.
  • Money you earn here is taxable. You may need to tell HMRC. We report platform earnings to HMRC annually.
